What can IWHI do?


  • Incubate new prevention projects and ideas - with a special interest in ideas with the potential to connect business, medicine and public health sectors

  • Catalyze action around prevention - across sectors, disciplines, cultural and political barriers

  • Communicate issues and findings in ways that are easily understood

  • Act as neutral convener for policy related discussions 

  • Analyze and evaluate prevention programming and policy

  • Provide leadership training especially in the area of public health quality and accreditation

  • Provide an organizational home for selected public health workers and programs when governmental structures don’t allow rapid or flexible response
